I was going to talk about feeling powerless this past weekend but figured I’m not alone in the feeling and since the feeling has passed it was time to discuss something more important. But first a few announcements.
We’re still taking orders. I’m not sure what is going on but the order tap seems to have turned off. It’s like the internet forgot where our website is or something. (Not to be pessimistic but the last time this happened we suddenly had a global pandemic). We’ve gotten very few orders these last few weeks, so we could still use help spreading the word. If you have a word spreader (depending on the words I’ve heard you can also use a manure spreader) please take it out, clean it up a bit and start spreading the word! Send them to our online store and tell them to write your name in the “Where did you hear about us?” section of the order. We appreciate your support!
Don’t forget to pay for your shares if you haven’t already or don’t have a payment plan.
We are still looking for help (unless we don’t sell the rest of our shares). So send those qualified people our way.
We are still taking orders for ‘ShroomShare, CoffeeShare, plant six packs, WinterShare , EggShare and FlowerShare.

I’ve been spending a lot of time in the greenhouse these last two months planting lots and lots of seeds. If you know anything about planting seeds it isn’t very intellectually challenging. Most of the time the brain can just be idling along with an occasional need to recall what was planted so it can be written on the label. This idleness gives me a great opportunity to do my best thinking, or in the words of that other great thinker Albert Einstein, the greenhouse is “that worldly cloister where I hatch my most beautiful ideas”.
With all this spare time my brain has a tendency to wander about and think of things that could change the course of history much like Albert. Since he already covered topics like relativity, and space-time continuum I focus my intellect on more complex problems. Things that Big Al could never dream of. In particular as of late I’ve been thinking of numbers, perhaps because of all the counting of the seeds I’m planting.

Anyway, so there I am planting away and my brain lands on a particularly interesting revelation. I discovered there are more even positive integers than there are odd positive integers. Yes you read that correctly. If you count up all the even positive integers you’ll have more than all the odd positive integers. How is this possible? Aren’t there like somewhere around infinity of each? And doesn’t infinity equal infinity?
So here is my “proof”. If you count all positive integers you get a total of infinity. Half of those are even and half are odd — or so we think. But now if we multiply all of them by 2 we now have an infinite number of only even integers and no odd integers. What? Where did all the odd integers go? And there is no number you can multiply all positive integers by that will make them all odd. So we have the original infinite amount of both odd and even integers but now we also have an infinite amount of just even integers. Therefore once you get beyond infinity all the numbers are even numbers! Take that Einstein!
Now I don’t know how this finding will impact the world. Maybe that will be my next thought experiment while planting seeds. However, if I can’t find a practical use for this fact it could be years before someone else figures out its intrinsic value and discover ways to utilize this newfound knowledge. But I can only surmise that one day, in the not too distant future, humans will be recalling this very newsletter with the reverence it deserves. It will be put on display in science museums around the globe with stories about how a simple farmer — yet intellectual genius, during the depths of the third most snowy winter in the history of Minnesota, discovered this truth that changed the course of history.
Other than that, I’m just planting seeds in the greenhouse until the weather warms up enough to do something else. So, if you have any questions, comments, suggestions, or topics worth me pondering please send them my way. I have plenty of pondering time available this coming week.
