A few announcements then on to a bit of farm news.
We are still looking for employees for this season. Soon we will be desperate as we get into the planting season. If you or someone you know wants a fun job with plenty of exercise and fresh air please contact me. Full-time or part-time. Anything is possible! A job description can be found here.
We still have VeggieShares. Order yours today. Plus tell your friends, neighbors, colleagues and family about us so they join too! Have them put your name in the “Where did you hear about us?” field of the order form and we will credit your account $25.
We have just a few EggShares left. If you try to order eggs and find they are sold out please let me know. I’ll start a waiting list and if I get enough interest we will add another 15 dozen.
Still plenty of ‘ShroomShares, WinterShares and CoffeeShares.
We have only four FlowerShares left. If you find them sold out but still want one please contact me and we can figure out if we can squeeze you in.
Please order transplants soon if you want us to grow them for you.
Due to the solar eclipse all our plants are about an hour behind schedule. Please plan accordingly.
Farm News

Is the winter weather behind us? I don’t know but it certainly seems like it. The last two seasons we didn’t get to the outdoor planting until May. I’m thinking this season we could start as early as next week. Of course we have to wait until the soil is dry enough to work and looking at the forecast it isn’t exactly favorable but isn’t completely unfavorable. Isn’t that just the way weather always is? Anyway, until the ground is ready I’ll be getting the equipment tuned up and all set to go.
What else is happening on the farm? We’ve been planting a lot of seeds in the greenhouse the last month and a half. So far we’ve planted tomatoes, sweet peppers, hot peppers, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, leeks, lettuce, beets, Swiss chard, ginger, rosemary, oregano, thyme, lemongrass, parsley, celery, celeriac, fennel, onions, shallots, kale, Brussels sprouts and eggplants.
This week we moved some of these baby plants from the warm confines of the greenhouse into the harsher elements of the cold frame. We do this to harden them off prior to planting them out in the field. After spending a few days in their “clubhouse” we move them outside to play in the bright sunny/cold rainy weather to further acclimate them. We like our plants to be comfortable in the wild prior to planting out. So far the plants we moved to the clubhouse are onions, shallots, kale and Brussels sprouts.

Other than that, I’ve been trying to solve the problems still unsolved from the last 20+ years. Seems like the list keeps getting longer.
Joke of the Week
Why did nobody laugh at the farmer’s jokes?
They were too corny.
Hmm, is there anything else? Probably but I can’t think of it. As always, let me know if you have any questions, comments, suggestions, jokes, etc.
