Inspired by National Youth Poet Laureate Amanda Gorman and her poem delivered at the inauguration, I felt it was appropriate to write this newsletter in poem form. First Haiku.
Ordering new seeds
Some favorites out of stock
Found new favorites
Bought new equipment
Too cold to assemble them
We await springtime
How about some limericks?
Playing lotto we picked all our numbers
As the farm continues its slumbers
We didn’t win
We’ll play it agin
And await this season’s cucumbers
The corn that we grow will be sweet
It really can not be beat
The ‘coons will eat some
So will the damn deer
But the leftovers we’ll get to eat
Sorry the lines didn’t rhyme
I’ll try to do better this time
But those deer make me mad
Not to mention the bugs
And one of our herbs is thyme
I’ll give it another shot
Of course I should, why not?
Can’t wait for the season
Can’t give you no reason
I think it will be really hot!
