When you work the farm of stones, you win or you die. There is no middle ground. But first a few announcement before I fill you in on farm news.
We are still selling shares. Spread the word or order a few more for yourself and your friends.
We are still selling add-on shares like fruit, cheese, coffee, winter storage and flowers. What could be better than sitting at the breakfast table eating some fruit and cheese for breakfast while drinking a cup of delicious coffee as you gaze at the beautiful flower bouquet centerpiece and think about all the potatoes and onions you have coming your way this fall? All this could be yours by ordering a few of our add-on shares!
You still have time to order transplants for your own garden. Read last week’s newsletter to learn more.
Farm News

Ugh. Not the best start to the outdoor farming season. Going from the garlic finally rising out of the frozen tundra to being covered by six inches of snow. But the worst part is what happened to our hoop house. The wind tore the plastic along the top of the structure to about halfway down the house. With the wind continuing to blow there is a reasonable chance the tear will grow longer. Once the weather warms and the wind dies down I’ll be able to get on top of the hoop house and determine if it can be taped or if we have to replace the plastic. I looked at the cost of the plastic and it will be just shy of $1,000. I’m really hoping the $35 roll of tape will be the solution — even if I have to buy two rolls.

Other than the weather there is a bunch of greenhouse planting going on. We have over half the total greenhouse space filled. I’m hoping this week is the end of winter so we can start moving the plants outside for planting out in the field. We have some terrific looking broccoli plants!
That’s all for now. As always, don’t hesitate to contact me with questions, comments, suggests, etc. Oh, and here is one of the stones we farmed last year! Order StoneShare from the Farm of Stones and you too could have farm fresh rocks, stones, and boulders!
