Not much time to write about the farm so lets get to the important information first.

The VeggieShare season starts Wednesday June 13th. We had a few people make a test run to the farm last week.  Hopefully nobody made the same mistake at the drop sites.  Plan to pick up your produce at your usual place and time.  If you don’t know where/when that is please let me know and I can fill you in on the details.  We anticipate we will have lettuce, green onions, green garlic, lettuce, garlic scapes, beets, lettuce, Swiss chard, bok choi, lettuce, kohlrabi and beets.  That’s a lot of lettuce!  We’d have even more if the deer wouldn’t eat their share.  Which reminds me, they still have a balance due on their account!

FruitShare starts this week. You can pick it up with your veggies at your usual pick-up place and time.  This week’s fruit will be blueberries, pluots, white and yellow peaches, flame grapes and valencia oranges.

If you would like to order blueberries a la carte please let me know by Monday June 25th.  We will have them for the delivery week starting Wednesday June 27th.  The price is $63 for a 12 pint flat.

CheeseShare starts the week of Wednesday June 20th.  You can still order CheeseShare until June 15th, though we can prorate it if you choose to add it later.  This season we have made it easy for you to customize your CheeseShare to your preferences.  Simply let us know what you want substituted and it will magically happen!  How cool is that?

EggShare starts this week for half of you who ordered EggShare (it is an every other week program).  The chickens and I have figured out a schedule and will send it to you in an email.  Let me know if you have any questions.

MeatShare already started.  If you want to add MeatShare we can prorate the remainder of the season or have June’s meat delivered with the July delivery.  People seemed to really enjoy the brats – I know I did!

We still have shares available. Send your friends, family, neighbors and coworkers our way.  We appreciate your support!

Now since I have nothing more to say I thought I would show you what you will get this week — pre-harvest!

The beets are looking beeutiful!
The bok choi is tucked in under a row cover to prevent flea beetles from eating it before we can.
Garlic Scapes! Chop them in a food processor and mix with cream cheese. Yum!
Green garlic. Use like garlic but with a milder flavor.
The green onions are tasty this year.
Kohlrabi. Just peel, cut into sticks and eat. Or add to your salad. Delish!
One of several type of lettuce we'll have this week. This is a crisp/tender butterhead!
Snap peas. Most of these will be eaten on the ride home. I suggest you volunteer to do this week's pick-up.
Swiss chard. As tasty as it is beautiful. Eat your colors!

As always, let me know if you have questions, comments, concerns, jokes or brain teasers.
