Farm Presser

First a few announcements then on to farm news.

We have pricing for all our products (except BreadShare see below) in our online store so feel free to place your orders.  There are package deals available as well.  If you put down a deposit already and want a package deal you can order it through the store and then contact me for your final total or just send me an email with what you want — we’re flexible.

The deadline for SeafoodShare has passed but if you really want it please let me know.  We can probably add to our order for a few more days.

We are trying to determine the future of BreadShare.  We really enjoyed BreadShare from Bread Art in Bayport this past season and I’ve heard from many others that they enjoyed it as well!   So we would like to continue BreadShare this season.  However there isn’t a lot of money in bread so transportation costs dramatically affect the profitability of it; it costs the same amount of money and time to deliver one loaf as it does 20.  For BreadShare to be cost effective we need 20 bread orders twice per week (Tuesdays and Thursdays would most likely be the delivery days) or an equivalent value of some other bakery items (SweetShare?  CookieShare? DessertShare?)  So what I need from our members is a commitment for the number of BreadShares you would purchase this season.  If we get enough interest we will carry it this season.  If not then I guess everyone is on their own to find a source for bread.  If you would like some other type of share that a bakery could provide please let me know that as well.  And finally, it would be difficult to have a BreadShare that is less than a loaf per week but we may be able to split it with another members.  So if you want bread but not every week please let me know that as well.

We still have shares available so please spread the word!  I’ve had a few referrals lately and certainly appreciate your support.

Farm News

In case you missed it, here are a few of the highlights from yesterday’s press conference.

“I turn on TV, open the newspapers and I see stories of chaos – chaos – yet it is the exact opposite. This farm is running like a fine-tuned machine despite the fact that I can’t get my seed order approved.”

Russia kale is fake news. Russian kale – this is fake news put out by the media.”

“The leeks are real.  The leeks are absolutely real. The news is fake because so much of the news is fake.”

“The greatest thing I could do [agriculturally] is shoot that deer that’s 30 feet off the farm right now.”

“We had Hillary Clinton give Russia 20 percent of the nitrogen on our farm. You know what nitrogen is, right? This thing called fertilizer, and other things. Like, lots of things are done with nitrogen, including some bad things. Nobody talks about that.”

“We’ve ordered the Department of Farmland Security to coordinate on a plan to destroy deer cartels coming onto the farm. We’re becoming a deer-infested farm. Deer are becoming cheaper than weeds.”

“How many times do I have to answer this question? Russia kale is a ruse. I have nothing to do with Russian kale. Haven’t planted Russian kale in years.”

As always, if you have any questions do not hesitate to contact me!  And of course let me know if you want to participate in BreadShare.
