AmphibianShare
I forgot to mention AmphibianShare for this week will be salamanders.
Garlic Planting Party
I also forgot to mention the Garlic Planting Party scheduled for Saturday October 15th from 10:00 am until we are done. It is a great opportunity to get out in the beautiful fall weather and start the 2012 season off right! We will be serving lunch! Please let me know if you plan to attend.
A couple additional things I thought about and have time to write about during lunch:
We currently have FruitShare available year round. Some of you have already ordered through the end of December. If you haven’t and are interested in adding November and December fruit please let me know. The price is $166 and includes two 10 # boxes of mixed fruit in November, one 10 # box of citrus and one 20# box of citrus in December. FruitShare pricing for January through May has not been determined yet.
We are looking to continue MeatShare through the winter. It would be a monthly pick-up of various cuts of frozen grass-fed, organic beef, pork and chicken. We don’t have final pricing yet but expect it to be around the same or slightly higher than the current MeatShare price or about $665 for seven months. Please let me know if you are interested in adding a winter MeatShare. We need a minimum number of people ordering MeatShare to make it happen.
Since we are doing FruitShare all year we figured why not do CheeseShare all year. If we get enough interest we will do this. The pick-up will be the same as FruitShare – or approximately twice per month. The price hasn’t been determined but I suspect it will be slightly more than last season – or approximately $280 for 14 deliveries over the course of seven months. We need a minimum number of people ordering CheeseShare to make this happen. Please let me know if you are interested.
WinterStorageShare
We still have WinterStorageShares available. They are $95 for a full share; $50 for a half share. A full share includes 5# onions, 2# garlic, 2# shallots, 20# potatoes and 20# winter squash.
Let me know if you would like any of these items. FruitShare and WinterStorageShare are sure things so you can send in payment at your earliest convenience. MeatShare and CheeseShare depend on getting enough demand so if you want these please indicate your desire without sending in payment yet. We will have a St. Paul drop site for CheeseShare and FruitShare. MeatShare must be picked up at the farm since there is no freezer available at the St. Paul drop site (though I suppose it wouldn’t matter in January).
Let me know if you have any questions!
